Joining Granny Squares: My Chessboard Pattern Journey

Hey crocheters! I’m excited to share that I’m working on a new-old project where I’m arranging my flower granny squares in a chessboard pattern. To make this happen, I need to crochet at least 28 empty squares. Here’s a sneak peek at how it’s coming together!
The Process
I’m loving the chessboard layout—alternating the vibrant flower squares with plain ones really makes the colors pop. You can see the progress in the photo!
Now I Need Your Advice
I’m still deciding on the best way to join these squares. Here are a few methods I’m considering:
- Slip Stitch Join: Quick and nearly invisible.
- Whip Stitch Join: Simple with a bit of texture.
- Join As You Go (JAYG): Efficient and clean.
- Join with a Border: Gives a polished finish.
What’s your go-to joining method? I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments! 🧶✨
